Learning and Culture for Development Lead

Shaimaa has 11 years of accumulative experience in the field of Civil Society, especially in cultural management, heritage development, social entrepreneurship, capacity building, youth development and urban management. Throughout those years Shaimaa has worked with various organizations as a researcher and program manager; among them; UNESCO Regional Office for Egypt, Sudan and Libya, The British Museum, Mahatat for Contemporary Art, Action for Hope and 10 Tooba for Applied Research on the Built Environment.

Shaimaa is currently doing her PhD in Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage at IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, Italy. She had her master’s degree in Cultural Heritage Management (CHM) in 2014 from Sorbonne, Paris 1, and she published her thesis on the architectural preservation of the vernacular heritage of Siwa Oasis in Egypt. Also, she had a specialized Diploma in Research Methods and Skills from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands in 2015.

Countries of experience: Egypt, Lebanon, Sudan, Libya, Ghana and England.
