Case Studies: Participation and Inclusion

Collective Routes Team developed those five case studies highlighting organizations collaborating with local communities. These case studies will centre on fostering participation and inclusion within the organisations and their broader stakeholders.

These case studies are outcomes of larger consultancies, specifically:

  1. Evaluation and documentation of the “Youth in Action” project executed by Alwan w Awtar and supported by the Drosos Foundation.
  2. YPE-DAPP, led by Oxfam, aimed at showcasing partner organizations’ capacities to integrate inclusivity and other organizational and developmental values at various levels.

Here are the five case studies:

  1. Organizational Culture Evolution: Alwan w Awtar’s Journey This case study delves into the transformation of Alwan w Awtar’s organizational culture over time.
  2. Arts and Community Integration: Alwan w Awtar’s Approach in Underserved Communities Explore how Alwan w Awtar has utilized arts and community-integrated approaches to uplift less privileged communities.
  3. Inclusive Workplace and Environment: BasharSoft’s Forasna Platform Investigate BasharSoft’s efforts towards inclusivity within its internal workplace culture and external environment, focusing on the Forasna platform.
  4. Empowering Women: Better Life Association’s Participatory Approach Discover how Better Life Association fosters inclusivity and empowerment among women through a participatory process, emphasizing tools for sustainable community development.
  5. Diversity and Inclusivity in El Rehla: Examining External Variables This case study analyzes El Rehla’s approach to inclusivity across seven external variables: gender, geography, age, industries, startup’ stages, languages, and stakeholders.

Building Partnerships Toolbox

This Toolbox aims to provide various tools to help different organisations and initiatives willing to develop authentic and sustainable partnerships. Since the journey of building partnerships varies based on partners and the type of partnership they seek, this toolbox offers separate tools that can be used at different phases of the partnership journey. The toolbox includes 20 tools: they can be used individually or with your team or your partners from other organisations.

The Tandem programme, which was developed and implemented by the Cultural Exchange department of MitOst in 2011 (which is now a part of the newly established entity zusa), collected these tools from various sources, which were adapted according to the program’s needs. So, do not hesitate to adapt these tools based on your team’s needs as well. These tools were published under the Creative Commons license (CC BY 4.0). So, do not forget to mention zusa and other primary sources when reusing any of these tools. The Collective Routes team worked on reformulating the English tools and then translated them into Arabic through cooperation with the All-Around Culture project.

The toolkit is available in both Arabic and English.
